Family account agreement

Terms and Conditions

Effective September 17, 2026.

These Terms of Service govern your use of Lion & Lamp and lionandlamp.com. Lion & Lamp is an assumed business name of MLE LLC, a Texas limited liability company. In these Terms, “Lion & Lamp,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to MLE LLC doing business as Lion & Lamp. These Terms govern the Lion & Lamp website and its stories, games, accounts, and related features (the “Service”).

Acceptance and family use

By using the Service, an adult user agrees to these Terms. A parent or legal guardian who permits a child to use the Service agrees to these Terms for the household and is responsible for supervising that use. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

Only a parent, legal guardian, or other authorized adult who is at least 18 years old may create an account. Children may use the Service only with the permission and supervision of a parent or legal guardian.

Children’s information

An account must use the adult account holder’s name, email address, and password. Do not provide information we do not request. In particular, do not submit a child’s full name, home address, phone number, photograph, government identification, or other sensitive information. The adult account holder is responsible for information entered through the account.

Educational and entertainment use

The Service provides Bible-based interactive stories, narrated scenes, quizzes, achievements, reading streaks, Armor of God rewards, and browser games for educational and entertainment purposes.

The Service is not pastoral, theological, medical, legal, counseling, or other professional advice. It does not replace Scripture, family or church guidance, professional advice, or parental supervision. The parent or legal guardian is responsible for deciding whether the Service is appropriate for each child.

Account security and acceptable use

Keep your account credentials confidential and notify us at support@lionandlamp.com if you believe your account has been misused.

You may not use the Service unlawfully; access another person’s account or our systems without permission; disrupt or overload the Service; scrape, copy, or redistribute content except as these Terms allow; reverse engineer the Service except where applicable law permits it; impersonate another person; or use the Service to harm, harass, or exploit a child. We may restrict, suspend, or close an account that violates these Terms or threatens the Service or its users.

Intellectual property

Lion and Lamp and its licensors own the Service and the stories, text, audio, artwork, games, software, badges, names, and other materials they provide.

We grant your household a limited, revocable, nonexclusive, nontransferable, noncommercial license to use the Service privately for educational and entertainment purposes. You may not copy, adapt, publicly perform or display, sell, redistribute, or create derivative works from our content except as the Service expressly allows or applicable law permits. These Terms do not transfer ownership to you.

Subscription plans and 14-day free trial

Eligible new subscribers may choose a 14-day free trial of one of the paid plans displayed at checkout: the Founding Family plan at $2.99 per month while available, the standard monthly plan at $4.99 per month, or the yearly plan at $42.99 per year. A valid payment method is required to begin the trial.

You choose the plan that will begin after the trial. Unless you cancel before the 14-day trial ends, Stripe will automatically charge the payment method on file for the selected plan. Monthly plans then renew each month, and the yearly plan renews each year, until canceled.

You may manage or cancel the subscription through the Stripe-hosted Customer Portal linked from the Service. Canceling before the trial ends prevents the first subscription charge. Cancellation after paid service begins will follow the timing and refund terms disclosed at checkout and in the Customer Portal, subject to applicable law.

We will clearly disclose the selected price, billing interval, automatic-renewal terms, trial length, and cancellation method before enrollment. We may change available plans or prices for future billing periods after giving any notice required by law.

Privacy and deletion requests

We use account and activity data to operate, secure, and improve the Service. Depending on the features used, this may include the adult account holder’s name and email address, authentication information handled through our service provider, saved story progress, selected Caleb or Miriam avatar, quiz results, narration activity, streaks, badges, and Armor of God rewards.

Our Privacy Policy, when posted, will explain our data practices in more detail. If these Terms and the Privacy Policy conflict about privacy, the Privacy Policy controls.

To request access to or deletion of an account and associated Service data, contact support@lionandlamp.com. We may retain information when reasonably necessary for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, dispute resolution, or backup integrity. We do not promise a specific deletion deadline in these Terms.

Third-party services and links

The Service uses third-party providers, including Supabase for authentication and database services, and may use hosting, email-delivery, analytics, or similar providers. Those providers have their own terms and privacy practices. The Service may link to third-party websites. We are not responsible for third-party services, content, or websites.

Changes, suspension, and termination

We may change, suspend, or discontinue all or part of the Service. We may suspend or terminate access if these Terms are violated, if we reasonably believe action is necessary to protect children, users, or the Service, or if we discontinue the Service.

You may stop using the Service and request account deletion at any time. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination, including intellectual-property, disclaimer, liability, indemnity, and dispute provisions, will survive.

Disclaimers and limitation of liability

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM EXPRESS AND IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE, OR THAT ITS CONTENT IS COMPLETE OR THEOLOGICALLY AUTHORITATIVE.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, LION AND LAMP AND ITS OWNERS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND SERVICE PROVIDERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST DATA, LOST PROGRESS, OR LOST PROFITS, EVEN IF ADVISED THAT SUCH DAMAGES ARE POSSIBLE.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR CLAIMS ARISING FROM THE SERVICE OR THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE DURING THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR FIFTY U.S. DOLLARS ($50).

These exclusions and limits do not apply where prohibited by law, including to liability that cannot legally be limited. Where a disclaimer or limit is not enforceable, our responsibility is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

Indemnity

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless Lion and Lamp and its owners, officers, and employees from third-party claims, damages, and reasonable legal fees arising from your unlawful misuse of the Service, your material violation of these Terms, or information you knowingly submit in violation of another person’s rights. This obligation does not apply to the extent a claim was caused by our fraud, willful misconduct, or violation of law.

Texas law and other terms

These Terms are governed by Texas law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Except where applicable law requires otherwise, exclusive venue for court disputes will be the state or federal courts serving Hidalgo County, Texas.

If any provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect. These Terms are the entire agreement between you and us concerning the Service. We may update them by posting a revised version and changing the effective date. Continued use after the revised effective date constitutes acceptance where permitted by law. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent. We may assign them as part of a reorganization, financing, merger, acquisition, or sale of the Service.
